Queen Maeve International Summer School Festival of Irish Music and Song takes place in I.T. Ballinode, Sligo Town.
This summer school is a week long series of master, advanced, intermediate and beginners classes in sean nos singing, tinwhistle, fiddle, flute, mixed instruments, bodhran and other instruments.
Also during the night time recitals, music sessions, singing sessions and a grand finale concert are held in the town.

The Brussels Concert Band was founded over a century before that and currently numbers some 50 musicians.
